I know this doesn’t help you-all, but in my UK town I have an excellent machine shop, headed by a vastly experienced man, who is now semi-retired, but has two younger men running the business, AND an apprentice.      I took them some work earlier this year and the lad was sent out to help me unload – his enthusiasm shone through!

There is hope for machine shop work in Lancaster UK!
