The ones I built were Group 44 style Datsun rotating bits. Never failed

My recollection is that the Group 44 car ran Datsun parts mated to Triumph stub axles. Our consistent issue was either differentials blowing, or stub axles shearing. 50 year old metal isn't up to the stresses of modern rubber and engine tuning capabilities, at least not for long.
We tried doing a subaru set up on one of the cars, it wasn't successful initially. Development is ongoing. Always seeking safety and reliability.

to answer Mike’s earlier question, I recall, maybe 5-6 years ago, seeing Jim Dolan at Summit Point in the carousel in either the Group 44 GT6 or the Kastner GT6, and one of his rear wheels going past him. I think he had five laps on the Rimmer or Canley assembly and the hub sheared off. Fortunately a low speed part of the track. Not sure if that was a one-off, and he subsequently went on to run them without trouble. Perhaps the Dolans can chime in as to what they run on their numerous GT6s and what this failure was.

Amici,
The question is which model GT6 you have, Mk1 and MK3 cars have swing axles and the GT6+ has fully articulated axles. The axles shown in the pics posted are for early and late cars.. Might suggest looking at the CV conversion axles being offered by Canley Classics in England for the GT6+?? I myself have been running axles made by Snyder Racing & Machine, Michigan ( since have closed their doors ).
My 2 cents,Bob T'64 Spit GT autocrosser

I think what Joe has is only for swing axles. My gt6 came to me with corvair hubs and gm bearings , spicer sliding half shafts and inner and outer u joints. It’s been bulletproof, but requires extensive mods to the uprights.

Amici,Are the Rimmers Brothers CV conversion kits suitable for racing? OR is there a better solution? I've heard of Corvair and even Volkswagen and Subaru, which is best? Apologies for not searching the archives first.
Cheers--
