When that happens we can look for alternatives.  You can get a Jerico 4
speed racing transmission that will handle 4 times the power a TR box
(forever), and given gearset costs, it's not a bad investment.  You can even
get it with close to the ratios of TR CR box.  Not vintage but if we want to
race into the future gearboxes are going to be a major problem.  Already
lots of Toyota 5 speeds quietly on the grid.   The vast majority of parts
made for racing today are far superior to what was available 60 years ago,
just look at the technological leaps in racing oil.  So as a sport we adapt
or stop racing.  Kas's moto was "Never be beaten by equipment".   The vast
majority of that equipment no longer exists, so when my last two TR
gearboxes are done it will be time for a change.

Interesting conversation, if the manufacturer of the close ratio gearsets is
truly done and can't be convinced to make more, this could have pretty big
implications to a lot of racers here.

Does anybody know the ratios of the dogbox gearset?
