[Fot] Dogs at Road America

On a high note for the hounds, I drove the land Rover to work today with the new Weber on it! The hounds will be much more mobile now as they are (mostly) forbidden from the new Truck. Never been "beaten by equipment" quite as hard as by that stupid Zenith on the Rover.

You're not dragging the big, drooly monsters on a cross country road trip in your new truck??? I'm shocked, Henry!

Nobody dotes on their big stinky hound dogs more than me and my wife, Treats, tuck ins, (no Halloween costumes though) and I'm looking forward to time away from them at the Cup!

My wife was worried about the same thing. I looked it up and found these tidbits which eased our concerns

Golden retrievers rank at No. 1 for having the loudest bark in the world at 113 decibels, according Guinness
and " Sound levels ranging from 85-100 dB are common in dog kennels".

That said, I think my wife will help me make sure Sofie is inside the trailer when I'm starting the car.

I would have thought so, too, but dogs don’t actually seem to mind it. My dad always brought his dog Jake to the track with him and he didn’t seem to care much about the loud noises.

Question:

Dogs hear much better than humans.

The race engines are loud enough that humans wear ear protection.

Wouldn’t it be a kind of torture for the dog to expose them to noise levels of that high?

Kind Regards

Chris

We are planning to bring the TR4 to Road America for the Kastner Cup. We got a new puppy this year and we are wondering if we can bring her to the track. If it's a no I think my wife will skip the trip.
