I don't think the blue color does mean a thing. Some Fot members, like Chuck Gee, will know for sure.
The standard overdrive ratio's of the Triumph cars (TR, saloons and Stag) are not very different. The ratio is often marked in the casing : something like 25 or 22, but none of the standard ratio's will improve the 3 O/D use that much : the power loss through the overdrive will not be compensated by the better overall gearing, but it can come in handy sometimes to engage 3rd O/D for just a couple of seconds and then again go to 3rd

there are several different overdrive ratios, you need to change the sun gear , annulus and 3-gear set
