[Fot] Nomination

Hear, hear. Started with a street car, ended up with a tarted-up street car. Still, had a ball with it on track, but would have been much better off with an old race car.

Here's a suggestion for prepping his car. Buy the car that Sam recently posted. Having built cars from a street car, in the long run it is usually better to start with an already built race car. The disadvantage is the upfront cost. When you build a car, the money is spent over time, but in the long run, more money is spent. If the upfront cost can be handled, the car can be put on track almost immediately (if there is still money left for entry fees and so on). That's my 2 cents. JoeB

I'd like to nominate Ian Johnson, a New York youngster who bought a Spitfire race car and is in the process of building it into a road racer. He just found out it has a large journal 1296 engine and is looking for some suggestions on prepping it.

He's autocrossed it a few times and plans on an SCCA Prod car as well as vintage racing.

Can I get a second?
