Subject: Re: [Fot] Shop cleaning I “get rid” of my old belts (which are in excellent shape but out of date) to the 4x4 and Jeep rock climber/ Mudboging guys. They like the added belts and have no ruling body to Conform to. Also seen 5 point belts in the street “tuners” (no malice intended) cars Put them on Craigslist or on your passenger seat if you have one in your race car. Cheers Mike Deweerd

Really Henry? It’s my recollection that when you use lights, wipers and heater you run out of gas! Cheers,Greg “Lunker” HilyerAlbuquerque NM

Subject: Re: [Fot] Shop cleaning I'm with Henry in that I use the originals regularly. Haven't had one fail yet on race or street cars (now that I said that, they'll start failing left and right!)...Of course, I also have an in-house rebuilder (old Skippy skills die hard!)

I still use the old generators and starter motors. They have date codes on them which make them more valuable to restorers.
I weeded out my collection, something like 40 of them and took them to the local starter shop who gave me some money and they might have made it back into somebody's car. Now I'm down to about 5-10 of these with dates that match my cars...............

Subject: Re: [Fot] Shop cleaning Greg, if you have a scrap metal recycler near you, you can get a few to five bucks each for such electrical items. If no one wants them to use, it might be worth the trip, instead of just trashing them. JoeB

I’ll never use one of these in a car I build or maintain so up for grabs, you pay shipping. I’ve probably collected a dozen of each over the years. Mostly TR3/4 stuff.
