I recently purchased a 1970 TR6 that had been sitting in a shed in
Maryland for 15 years and was in very rusty condition. The owner had
died a while back and a local ‘car guy’ was selling it for the owner’s
widow. My intentions were to rebuild the motor for a backup for my race
car and salvage whatever other parts I could for backups, trading, etc.
To my surprise when I got it home, it had a type ‘A’ overdrive in it,
and I subsequently learned that the Vin number ending in “L O”  is
apparently an original factory left hand drive unit with a factory
overdrive.

I was told these cars are sought after by some collectors, and it would
be ashamed to end its life. I have the car mostly disassembled and have
no intentions to personally restore it, but thought if someone is
interested in purchasing it as a “Whole” for restoration purposes, we
can probably work something out; otherwise I am going to follow through
with my original plan.

The car has a Maryland title, matching serial number ‘CC 5***6 L O’ on
the windscreen and door plate. It also includes the original motor and
‘A’ Type gearbox. It would need a complete restoration and many new
parts. If there is any interest please contact me and I’ll answer any
questions you may have.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all,

Mike Kurtz
