 I've lived in the area at the IL/WI border just west of 94 all my adult life - I have never found a good way to miss the mess - take I80 west to I294 bypass (tollway) heading to WI - if you catch the time right you'll make pretty good time - the worst will be on I80 between I65 and I294, esp late in the afternoon, early evening - next would be around I290 to I94 when on I294 esp during the late afternoon early evening - fortunately with the bug traffic has been lighter than usual - I currently have no idea on any of the construction zones now
