You should probably check with Redline; but my understanding is that they do
not use the sulfur/phosphorous additive that can damage yellow metal.

According to the white paper at

"The extreme pressure chemistry used in many gear oils
can be corrosive to brass and bronze used in synchronizers
and bushings. Most gear oils are corrosive at
temperatures of 200°F. Red Line Gear Oils are non-corrosive
up to 300°F and the MTL® in excess of 375°F. A
corrosive gear oil can shorten synchronizer life by half
and can also contribute to rust problems."

I don't have a link handy, but I was reading a research paper just the other
day (published in SAE Transactions) about a "dispersed solid borate"
additive that reportedly gave greatly reduced wear in big truck rear axles.
One of the other Redline documents on their website mentions "solid
microscopic particles", which could be the same thing (or not, just a WAG).
