They may have the same issue as you and have to soft pedal too. Is there a size limit on fuel cells that says 7.2 gallons max, or do some of the fast guys have larger capacity? If all the same develop a strategy especially if you can do a fuel stop. I recall and I think it was Mark Donahue in Trans Am that did a fuel stop much earlier than the rest of the racers and ran away at the end when others needed to stop for fuel. His book I think the title was something like “An Unfair   Advantage” detailed how he out thought his competitors in many details. If you have never read the book do so, it’s worth the read on history of a great racer. He didn’t put fuel in his frame however.

Do what one of the Nascar guys did and plumb some extra fuel into your frame.

So, how cold does the fuel have to be in order to have any significant affect on volume?  I need to make 7.2 gallons of fuel go 75 minutes at Road America this weekend, where I typically burn a bit more than 1 gallon every 10 minutes.  I could soft-pedal it to save some fuel, but there is some quick competition out there.
