How many National Championships did Lee win?
This will also be the 50th Anniversary if his ‘69 FP championship in the Kastner Spitfire.

Thanks for the message Paul. Yes, both the Huffaker TR7 and TR8 will be there. Both cars share No. 11 and where driven by Lee Mueller in 1980. Mueller won the SCCA D Production championship in 1979 in the TR7.
I decided to have John Mueller drive the TR7, and Joe Huffaker will drive the TR8. I’ll be there watching from the sidelines at this race, but will compete in both cars at future vintage races. I just got my SCCA competition license last year, and this Kastner Cup is just too important for me to drive. I wanted to recognize the 40th anniversary of the TR7 National Championship with something special.
Hope to see you there!

Hello Friends,
I have been told by a Huffaker insider that 2 Huffaker Triumphs will be racing in the Buttonwillow Kastner Cup. 1 TR8 and 1TR7. I can't recall if Lee Muller drove both cars or not. Supposedly, Lee Muller's son will be driving one of the cars.
Both cars have been at Huffaker for a few years being fully restored. I saw them around the time of the Sonoma Kastner Cup event.
There is a YouTube video of the TR8 being tested at Sonoma this past January. Of course, it sounds awesome.
It looks like the Buttonwillow event is really heating up.
I will be registering very soon,
Dave H.
