My experience is with my GT6, but should be very similar to your TR6.
I get my bearings from Richard Good at GoodParts.com <http://goodparts.com/>. They are sold as King tri-metal bearings and come in King boxes, but they usually have “County” stamped on them. There’s an old commentary on the web from Uncle Jack, who said he investigated that, and King told him County was their largest customer, so a lot of bearings are stamped County.
Anyway, I’ve been running these for years. In my experience, they hold up pretty well. By that I mean after three race seasons (call it five-six race weekends a year) the rod bearings need to be replaced due to mild wear. The rods go a bit quicker than the mains.
I’ve been running them with a Calico coating for the past few years, and they do hold up better, but eventually the coating wears through too. Richard will ship directly to Calico, and Calico’s turn-around is only a few days, so it doesn’t take much extra effort to go this route. The Calico coating seems to add about 1-2 10,000" to the bearing thickness.
For comparison, I run 20-50 Penngrade partial synthetic (the former Brad Penn), and peak revs are about 7000; with the occasional 7300 or so.

Hi, I have finally depleted my stash of vandervell bearings. I was wondering if there are suggestions from the group regarding the best choice of today's suppliers. Any input based on race engine use would certainly be appreciated. thanks!
