[Fot] GT6 engine with "special" on the block?

This came up the other day on a Triumph forum. Stumping everyone there. Any
ideas what SPECIAL on the casting means ? Not my car but interested in what
it means.

"Engine number is KD7632E

So my son’s gt6 is a mk2 w a mk1 engine in it. One thing I’ve never seen on
a 6 cylinder engine is the word Special embossed on the block. It’s next to
the drain plug on the right side.

Anyone seen that before?   "
