TR8's came with inertia switches from the factory.  That being said I have used a Ford switch on my TR4A that is primarily a street car but that I raced for a couple of years at our Put In Bay event with no issues.  Cheap effective safety measure.Rich

Art, I've always been afraid to put one on a race car, probably due to some of the unorthodox racing lines our team decides to take (!).  However, I have used the Ford inertia switch in my street Triumphs whenever I have converted to an electric fuel pump.
See this one for an example:

Good luck!

I am assisting in the design of a vintage racer wiring harness andwonder if anyone is using an inertial switch to kill the fuel pump so it will automatically stop in the event of an impact. Is any one using such a setup and what would you recommendfor a switch? art d_______________________________________________
