[Fot] Spit Axles

Hey Mark.
 Not sure of the specific axle your talking about but if it's similar to my
old jeep, it should be easy enough to make a shrink fit collar to retain
the axle. Make a sleeve which is .001 / inch of diameter smaller than the
axle. So 1.25 x.001= .00125  dia. smaller in the case of a 1.25 dia. axle.
Heat it up and put it on. When it cools , it will not come off...  If you
do need to remove it you can probably get it off by reheating. The
reheating end of things can be a little iffee.. Most decent machine shops
can make an accurate sleeve.
