I am not sure what is happening with VSCDA car placement now, but our TR powered Tornado Thunder Bolt always ran 'with' Race Group 2, as did TR powered Ambros, Devins, the Peyote, etc.

I do not remember VSCDA ever listing the Thunder Bolt as Group 3.  Perhaps some of those cars were designated Group 3 race cars, but raced with Race Group 2.

I know that there is currently a TR powered Kellison racing in VSCDA.

Correct.  We'll all end up in the same place but you are correct that Group 3 would be the proper placeholders for specials.

VSCDA has opened registration for the 2017 Blackhawk Classic.  This is the host event for the 2017 Kastner Cup.  The link for online registration is:

Please register as soon as you are able - this will be a big help with planning.  Here's a few notes regarding registration:


 -  You will have to select a Group and Class during the process.  All of our cars will either fall into Group 2 or Group 8.  Either way, we'll all run together in an all Triumph group but you will need to make a selection.  Information on the groups can be found here:

-  The preliminary schedule has not been posted yet but in general there will Friday practice with an optional enduro at the end of the day, Saturday qualifying and then the Kastner Cup at the end of the day, and then additional opportunities for racing on Sunday.  



-  Be sure that you select the Kastner Cup from the list of options



-  VSCDA will be providing me with contact information for all of the Kastner Cup competitors.  I'll reach out with an email containing a few questions.  Please take a few moments to answer these questions as the information will be used in a Kastner Cup program / spotters guide that will be available at the event.
