I had an unknown vibration in my TR-3 years ago. Then a gear strips in the transmission. Vibration was gone after that. I ran the race without 4th gear. Used overdrive 3rd.

Another time an unknown vibration resulted in an engine explosion. One Hell of a way to find out the cause of the vibration.

The TR6 pan is about an inch and a quarter deeper at the front, so, with stock mounts, it sits quite hard upon the steering rack. The GT6's pan can be used on the TR6 engine, but only with some modification--making ~ 1/2" deep lateral dimples in it for connecting rod clearance.

For Jay: by chance, have you noticed the gearshift lever wiggling around when this vibration starts?
