Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I have a new set of .040 over pistons on hand, I'll use those for the new "real race" job.
That means I  have a set of 5 +.020 TR6 pistons FS cheap.
Bob T.  - this was the new motor. It's now the "dead motor".
Scott J. - I was running no external oiling. Emphasis: WAS.
Next on the shopping list: rods. I'm looking at Wishbone Classics and I'm curious as-to pros and cons of Kai's H-beam units and the Pauter X-beam design.
