Chris,
The top hat linered blocks are the way to go, from what I hear.
There are new (not remanufactured) engines available from RPI in the UK (I’ve had good results using them in the past when I was rebuilding my Morgan Plus 8’s engine) and their website has some useful information on it as well. You might check their ebay pages, although I don’t see any bare blocks for sale there at the moment.
