I've used heavy duty front mounts from Cambridge in the UK. The standard ones I'd kill in a year or two, these have been in the car for probably 10 years and are rock solid. Shipping was almost as much as the mounts themselves.

Hello All,
I was thinking of moving the entire drive train appx 1 inch back but have changed my mine. I didn’t know the sanctioning bodies would not approve. Its not worth the hassle!

I did find out that the old TR Bits does sell upgraded front motor mounts. About $40 each. Has any one used them or something close to this?

I don't know why you would need to.
I have an IRS car with coil overs on the front and made adjustable spring perches for the rear, I use a lightweight battery behind the passenger seat and my car corner weights to 49.9% cross weight. I could have nailed it to 50% but settled for the .1% off
It's surprising how well these cars will balance without a lot of effort.

better check your sanctioning body.....it's usually not an approved modification.

you would be surprised what an inch difference in weight placement makes in the corner weighting of a car, especially the engine and trans. If you've ever used a tongue scale to balance your trailer load you can imagine what moving the engine and trans will do to a 2000lb car.

Anyone have any experience with moving the engine mounting rearwards to

possibly improve weight ballance?

Any improvements to just the engine or transmission mounts?
