Building the oil cooler into the radiator is a great way to go except you have to change both if you have an engine failure that contaminates the oil. Absent this small issue, using hot water to warm cold oil is useful. My old Maserati Mistral has a ridiculously complicated water/oil heat exchanger to do just that. It has three thermostats—one that connects the heat exchanger to the engine outlet to warm the oil from the water (which gets hot first) and then to switch to the radiator outlet to cool the oil. If you’re going to have a radiator made, make it a two pass for the water section. No significant change in size (just a little thicker) and about 40-50% more temperature drop at the same flow rate.

The advice that I got from Griffin Radiator (they made my radiator) was to use a puller fan as it blocks less flow, so if you can I would move the fan to the back if there is room. The NASCAR guys build their oil coolers into the radiator and that is what I did, it is in the drivers side tank. It makes for better air flow and on cool to cold days it warms the oil much quicker.

This is something to consider, as the speed you can make likely means a ton of air going into the engine bay, it has to exit somewhere. You could have a situation where there is no air flow through the radiator at high speed.

It was very hard to find. You might also try changing caps. If it is not in the cooling system I would look at the ducting and airflow out from engine compartment. It could be a simple situation of to much air getting in and not enough getting out at high speed to maintain flow.

The difference between radiator in and outlet is 10°C (50F). Not enough I would say. Maybe making the pump more slower? It was running on a ratio of 0.8 slower than crank, currently 1:1 speed. Any ideas? 10 Liters are circulating.
