Sadly, Mike, I think his paintings represent 'the Good Old Days', which if you read the newspapers or watch television...are sure gone.
 
But what a treat to revisit that time. His pictures capture how simple and innocent life was.

PS I sure remember a bunch of those pictures, especially those from the late 1940s and the 1950s.

My wife and I visited the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA, about 15 years ago.  What a marvelous place.  I did not know that most of the people in his paintings were actually from his home town.  One of the ladies who waited on us in the gift shop was in a painting as a little girl.  What an incredible honor that must be.  His paintings truly represent the essence of our country.
