[Fot] Racing rod design

Besides the rod design, that an I-beam is stronger – it was not a rod failure.

I opened the engine today.

The rod is still in place and straight.

Excuses going to Scat for blaming the rod.

The piece that looked like the rod was a piece of the piston stuck in the block side.

 

What happened:

-      Exhaust valve broke off

-      The piston pushed it into the head face and cracked the head

-      Masses of water intruded the combustion

-      The piston fell into pieces

-      Half of the liner is broken away

-      The rod is straight (as far I can see) and the bearing is moving, no bearing failure.
