[Fot] TR4 Valve Guide Clearance

Dears, I installed the Moss alu bronze guides and had to fight against my
machinist who did not want to ream them (after fitting of course) to .004.
I ran 6'000 miles so far with that engine, last outing was for 3 days racing
end of May, driving the car to and back from the event (500 miles away on
motorways maintaining 90mph cruise speed with OD), total 1300 miles and it
used less than 1 quart of oil.
So it works very well as Tony mentions, bronze expands when hot and the stem
as well, making for a tight clearance from the .004' cold.
But make sure they are reamed to size after fitting.
Cheers!

There is a tool used to measure the ID of the bore, and they should be
reamed to size after installation. Stickimg valves is a bigger problem if
you have enough lift in the cam that a stuck valve will hit the piston.
Results are quickly very disastrous then.
