[Fot] TR6 diff housing inquiry

Hello Friends,
I have a local contact who has a couple TR6 diffs and I think that I remember someone saying that the aluminum cover can be used on TR3/4 housings.  One of the housing covers follows the shape of the inner workings and the other one, as far as I can tell, doesn't and I'd say that it hold much more gear oil, good thing.  Of course, the mounting flanges would have to be cut off.  
Any thoughts?
