I'll warn you to only ask questions that you can handle the answers

I searched the frame, tub, and engine numbers from my
"new" Spit
race car a couple months ago.B  I was told by the seller that it was a 1974
however the commission numbers indicate itbs a 1971 tub on a frame number
that
doesnbt exist (the prefix indicates about 1968 but the number has one
too many
digits) and the biggest surprise was the engine is a factory rebuilt
unit from a 1972ish Triumph
Toledo which was the cheaper version of the
Triumph 1300 compact sedanb& not
exactly the storied thoroughbred that
conjures day dreams of blasting down the Mulsanne straight.B

Maybe I'll call it the
Toledo Special, somehow I doubt it'll strike fear in the hearts of the
spridget pilots considering it started life as a 30 MPG grocery fetcher for
some English grandmother.

Foreman and I have just taken delivery of a MKII

SCCA logbook (# 13-430) going back to '79 however the tub has no
data plate
with a commission number.
The tub number plate that sits directly under where
the commission number
plate is intact and its number (# 75158 FG) is what is
noted in the logbook.
Is there a cross-reference recourse anywhere than can
give me this car's
original commission number outside of the British Motoring
Heritage?B
