You are wrong. the sports cars will use the Motorcycle configuration and the vintageB  cars will be allowed to run a practice session on the oval if desired.B  See press release below;

Indianapolis Motor Speedway b Indianapolis, INAs the fourth race in the 2014 East Coast schedule, SVRA is proud to announce the first Vintage event ever to be held at the historic Brickyard. This one promises to be a blockbuster for competitors and spectators as it will feature a historic oval track reunion and a full slate of SVRA Sprint and Endurance races taking place on the newly configured 2.44 mile road course. Vintage competitors will also have a chance to drive the historic 2.5 mile oval. 
Spectators will be allowed to camp in the infield during this event, marking the first time in the trackbs 111 year history that this has been possible. SVRAbs open access to the paddock, race cars, and drivers will make this event the most family-oriented, fan-friendly event ever held at the Speedway.

I may be wrong, but from the article I read about the Vintage race at Indy, it is not on either of the road course but on the oval only. Can't believe it would be very interesting. I understand that it would be neat to race on the oval, but not very technically interesting. B

As much as I love Mid Ohio I would vote for Indy! I am going the SVRA event at
Indy this June, can't wait to run the Brickyard!
