My Avalanche with the 5.3 V* gets about 11.5-12 depending on ethanol
content of the fuel with the 24' enclosed trailer pretty much regardless of
the contents, be it a few thousand lbs of LeMons car or the FV. It slows
down on the hills, but doesn't have to. My biggest complaint, both with the
2006 and the 2002 would be that they warp front rotors if you look at them
cross eyed. I've been tempted to put the 2500 wheels/suspension under a
1500 to see how well it holds up.

I do have to add that the the light bar on top of the Avalanche costs at
least a few MPG, if only because it adds a few MPH...:)
