Yes I do as the rear wheels do spin a little on OD engagement.
It was raining all the time, no dry spot.

I had to adjust the steering and the registration plate is bend.

Chris -- a few questions --

Do you take out a bit of steering lock when the O/D engages when you're
turning slightly and driving in the rain?  I thought I saw you do that but
couldn't tell whether it was pre-emptive or was done to correct a small
side-step from the rear of the car.
Was there a dry line visible anywhere?
Any significant damage to your car or the Elan?
