[Fot] GT6 at the Salt Flats...

With the current interest in land speed racing, this is the perfect time to
coax some of you out to give it a try.
I have been racing my TR7 roadster with the East Coast Timing Association
(ECTA) since 2007 and I really enjoy it. The ECTA has recently moved its
venue to Wilmington, OH. We run a one mile land speed course on a
decommissioned air strip. It is smooth and fast and a great chance to see
some very fast cars.
My TR7 roadster runs 120mph and makes 108hp at the rear wheels.
Here's where it gets interesting... (I know what makes us all tick) If there
is enough interest from the FOT I will check with the competition director
and propose sponsoring a TRIUMPH Top Speed Challenge in conjunction with one
of the 2013 regularly scheduled ECTA events... I will offer a trophy to the
fastest TR with a displacement of 1.5 liter, 2 liters, 3 liters, and 4
liters... Event t-shirts etc.
It will hopefully be a chance for me to meet a lot of you and have some fun.
You have been challenged!
