Just a thought, but what is wrong with a SU type fuel pump? Maybe an
aftermarket doubleender, I think they already have a regulator built into
them. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=37345
They worked for Jag V-12's! I wonder what the old Group 44 cars used?

SU Solid State Competition Double Ended Fuel Pump
Double-ended SU pumps have been standard equipment for years on Aston
Martins, Bentley and late model E-Types. Delivering twice the capacity of a
standard MGB type pump, these units will keep on pumping even if one side
fails. Well-suited for all high performance engines running SU carbs, as no
pressure regulator is required.
