GT6ers, in particular, may be interested in the current issue of Triumph
World magazine. There is a feature article on a Triumph GT6 that has been
making speed runs at Bonneville. I did not bring the issue to the shop this
morning, but from memory I believe the guy's name is Copeland, and he is from
Arizona. Their last trip registered 300 mph and was the fastest 'sportscar'
at the event. They hope to hit 340 mph on the next trip.
Exotic looking car, with major front end body modifications. The rear end
is classic GT6, with stabilizer fins added on each side where the rear
fender bead goes.
Copeland's story would make a good movie, in that he is the survivor of a
massive salt flats crash in a 1950s Bocar years ago. The incident put him
out of commission for over a year, but did not dampen his need for speed.
He's back at it, and in a Triumph GT6..
I am not sure...maybe he is an FOT member.
