Well, in SCCA, it's only cheating if you get caught!

Sam went podium after Hobb's Sponsored Prelude was DQ'd flagrant
infractions reported.
Accolades went to Rocky Entriken for his involvement in SCCA, by the
announcers.

I too watched the EP race on line yesterday, and agree, "Way to go Sam!"
Actually, all of the drivers that drove in a National Championship race
under
those conditions deserve kudos and free clean underwear. Sam's issue
getting sideways and off circuit coming out of Turn 1 was unfortunate. The
announcers claim the corner worker had signaled Sam to hold his position
because
of oncoming traffic. But who can fault him. Perhaps he did not see their
signal, or the heat of the moment took over, but the results were
unfortunate
for the then 5th placed car. Sam's car is really impressive with
straightaway speed.
But I was also impressed with that Honda Prelude driver who went from 26th
to 3rd in the race. Given a few more laps, I don't think he was through.
Talk about a Swamp Fox. My first impression was that with David Hobbs Honda
as his sponsor, did he have some help from the manufacturer (i.e. legal, but
hand picked parts to build a very special engine). But were that so, why
did he only qualify 26th? The guy's from northern Minnesota, so I'm
convinced it's far more likely he's an ice racer that found himself
comfortable
with
those slippery conditions at Road America yesterday. Surely that run from
26th to 3rd had to be one of THE highlights at the National Run Offs this
year.
