Mark,

Not sure I know what you mean by "new hubs". The issue with the IRS  
hub is that the stub axle can't stand up to the stresses we put on  
them racing. When it fails, the wheel departs. Has happened to me and  
many others. A newly rebuilt TR hub doesn't solve the design problem.  
Several of us have adapted 240Z stub axles to the TR hub carrier.  
Richard Good sells a redesigned hub. The sliding axles aren't the  
weakest link, but Goodparts has an uprated axle design, too.

I wouldn't race (again) on the OEM hub. As others have said, it's not  
a matter of IF, just WHEN.
