I watched it too. Wayne Carini is asking $55K for it and it seems quite high
from a value perspective. It seemed like a nice car, but having been parked
that long I doubt it has things like a Moldex crank, Uncle Jack front hubs and
Southwick axle. As it is there seems to be a glut of TR4/4A's for sale these
days with four on Race-cars.com with asking prices from a low of 17K up to a
high of 28.5K, and some of them have comparable "SCCA" race history. We need
some buyers to put these cars back on track!

I watched that show last night and found it very interesting. I remember
that car well and raced against it often at Mid-Ohio, Road America, and
Watkins Glen. It was extremely well prepared, owned and driven well by a
Doctor
from Mystic, CT. It went FAST. One thing I remember about it was that it
went back into its enclosed trailer every night. It then stopped showing up
at events, and rumor had it that the owner was going through a 'dirty'
divorce, and the car was put up for sale along with other assets. At the time
(early to mid-1990s) the asking price was $40,000, which suggested to me that
it really was not for sale. Well, apparently it has sat in the
basement/garage ever since and now will be detailed and put up for sale again.
This
time $45-50,000.00 price tag.

Nice TV show, the second segment of which was even more interesting. An 86
year old gentleman was finally parting with a rare Ferrari he had purchased
in the mid-1960s, over in Italy for around $5,000.00 (including shipping
costs). The broker who is handling the sale now suggests it will sell for
about three quarters of a million dollars.

Wow!
