[Fot] TR4 IRS rear axles

I think we need to make some clarification here on the terminology for the 
rear end.  On an IRS car first we have the inner axel  stub which attaches 
to the differential, then we have the half shafts commonly called the axels 
or drive axels, then there are the outer axel stubs or stub axels which have 
the bearings on them which ride in the carrier which has also been called 
the rear hub housing, then we have the hub or drive flange which is the 
piece the wheel bolts on to.
I've included a couple of links to illustrations of these assemblies to help 
identify the parts.
