here's what the guy posted about the car on another Triumph site.  Apparently someone challenged the classification, saying the GT6 was offered as a four seater.  The challenge was denied and a "Triumph" has the record for fastest modified sportscar in this class.

"Speed trials such as Bonneville use a classification system that is based on three main factors: chassis and level of mods to it, Engine Size, Fuel. You can use any combination to arrive at a class. The car I am referring to is a Modified Sportscar meaning that it is based on a production two seater. From the firewall back the car must be original except the roof can be chopped (lowered). Forward of that almost anything goes. The car is a 360ci Aluminum Brodix with two turbos on methanol. Not going to please the GT6 purist but it will make a gearhead do a double take and grin."
