Yes, I have thought about it, and have an aluminum flywheel for the good
1296 motor.  This was my (formerly) stock-ish 1500cc backup motor.  It's
gotten a few upgrades now and I'm just looking to shave a little weight
off the flywheel - nothing too extreme.  This motor won't be revved much
past stock in any case.  (and I've got a nice ballistic scatter blanket
:-)

Have you thought of getting a lightened flywheel, they're much safer.
