[Fot] 1969 Targa Florio

This TR5 was entered in the 1969 Targa Florio  by Demetriou Racing for Alan
Smith and Nick Faure. The car was standard apart from stiffened suspension and
racing tyres and Nick qualified it in a very respectable 44mins, which was
over 3 minutes quicker than the only other car in the class, a Ferrari 275
GTB. Unfortunately due, I believe, to electrical problems the car crashed out
of the race on lap 3.
Nick Faure was a very accomplished driver who mainly raced Porsches including
arcing at Le Mans on a number of occasions.
