Okay, that would be a major work but what can I advice him to get done in
two weeks from now?
I would need reference measurements to get a feel how other Spitis track
width come out.
We allow to be 2" more than stock and that is okay for all cars - I thought.
Now why does the Spiti has a problem? That I would like to find out but I
have to get more knowledge about the suspension and how your guys cars track
width come out.
Cheers
Chris

A longer rear spring will produce a reduced negative camber at the rear. Or
he might even consider getting rid of the rocker box and revert to an early
spring. This will reduce the body roll and likely will require tweaking the
entire suspension in order to balance the car and achieve the handling he
desires.

Hi guys,
Question:
I have to look after the rules of our group and announced that we will
measure track width at the next event.
I got the question of a Spiti racer how he should stay under the max track
width.
Our rules says that the max track width of that car (Spitfire 1500) is:
Front: 1296 mm = 51.02"
Rear: 1321.6 mm = 52.03"
He says, if he does use the wishbone spacers at front to achieve negative
camber he gets over the max track width.
For the rear he claims that his leaf sping is weak, so he has lots of
negative camber and the he is over the track width at rear also.
I'm not so familiar with that car but maybe you can help me with your
experience how difficult it would be to stay under the max track width
values.
Does his trouble do come from the wheel rims? Too wide or too much offset?
Or is this a common problem with that car?
Cheers
Chris
