Greg,
That stc# is the year sold tag and they were screwed on. My car #46235 was built in March '59, shipped to Cal Sales, Dorothy Deans dealership, in Glendale Ca. in April '59, but the year sold tag has STC 60 and the title says first year sold 1960. You can send your number info to The Heritage Trust Museum in the UK to find out the specifics. They'll list all the info they have on the numbers as well as the options the car was sold with. It's nice info to have, and I think it cost around $50. They send you a formal certificate with official stampings and signatures.
The frame # on the cross member of my car is related to the month and year the frame was made. Mine is Z 2 9. Feb.'59 is consistent with the my cars build date of March '59.

See you next week in Topeka,
Dave

Going from memory the chassis (body etc.) should be a 1960 or 1961 model and
the engine is out of an earlier car (probably '57 or '58.) (There is a
Swedish web site that could tells us exactly) Mine was built in Ausugt 1959
and chassis # TS57756L.

The total production (through 1963) was something like 86,000+- but '59 was
the biggest production year and they could have hit ran the number that high
in those next couple of years.

The engine number is enough lower I would guess it has had an earlier
replacement at some point. Chassis number and engine number never matched
exactly, but the were usually closer that that.

I think they all had the STC number plate and as I recall it has no
particular significance. Most have another number plate on the front chassis
cross member.

As far as displacement, tough to say since oversized liners have been
availabe almost since new. I guess it started life as a 1998 cc, but who
knows what it might be today.

That sound like a "spit and shine" question rather than a racers question
:-)
