I think I now know why my car had so much oversteer during the all 
Triumph race:

Those tires were brand new going into Topeka.  Normally a set of 
Speedsters lasts 4 or 5 races...  Tim Murphy was telling me that the 
track has a reputation for being hard on tires...  I guess he was right!
