Larry,

Nice shot. A couple of questions. Why is the yellow flag being
displayed? Is there
something out of picture? Also, does the cable really help
the bucket truck keep
from tipping? It doesn't seem to stable.

This was scheduled to be a big weekend for
Triumphs at Hallett.  Tony Drews did the long tow from Illinois, which
prompted Greg "Lunker" Hilyer to come over from New Mexico and Bob Kramer to
come up from Texas.  Gary Fuqua rounded out the contingent of TR4s and Bobby
Whitehead was running his GT6 in a different group.  Gary also organized the
carport, which was greatly appreciated by all.

Unfortunately, Bob's engine
decided to eat its crank scrapper on Friday. Gary ran very strong on Tony's
tail Saturday, but didn't run Sunday due to pain from his shingles.  By Sunday
morning, we had the two remaining TR4s and Bobby's GT6 running.  Apparently,
the three 911 guys and the two Mustangs in the race group got bored, so they
lobbied for a reversed order start on Sunday morning.  I watched the race from
the lower bleachers, which oversee what I call the "stop and turn left" at the
bottom of the hill.

Lunkerman Hilyer didn't finish the previous race on
Saturday, so he was gridded near the front.  Instead of having a rabbit or a
carrot to chase, they got number 3.14, the "Plum Pi".  Tony was gridded about
a third of the way back in the pack. First lap around, the pi was behind three
B sedans and Tony had worked up to eighth or so.  Next time around the pi was
in front and Tony was fifth.  Then for the next few laps, it was the Lunker in
front with Tony hot on his tail.  Before long, the 911s worked through the
rest of the pack and we had the two TR4's with the 911's and one of the the
Mustangs in hot pursuit.  The two little Triumphs fought valiantly and held
off those nasty Porshes for some time, but eventually they succumbed to the
newer technology.  After that, it was a race to see which Triumph would come
out ahead.  They fought tooth and nail and Lunker felt the increased pressure
as the flagman indicated two laps to go.  Both Triumphs
 went faster and faster, but Tony was not able to get around the pi.  They
finished with Tony glued to the tail of the pi.  For both cars, their fastest
lap was the last one - both running in the 1:34s.

As a spectator, the race
was great fun.  I can imagine how much fun it would have been for Tony and
Lunker.  Here's a photo taken on about about the 5th lap of this 9 lap race. 
I've also sent some video clips to Tony.  I hope he can work some magic and
combine them with his in-car video.
