Speaking of Sam, he received a nice mention in the Runoffs coverage in the
Oct. 5 issue of Autoweek.  Two pages of coverage with the following
paragraph about Sam: 

"The race was won by Sam Halkias in his ancient Triumph TR6, he finessed his
way through the field from a 10th place starting sport.  Halkias, who had
competed in 21 previous Runoffs, had missed only one - a couple of years
ago, after a stroke - and had never won the race.  He had been coming since
1972 as a spectator - his father died at the Runoffs, he said - and he began
crying during the post race driver interviews.  'Tears of joy', I assure you
he said, 'This means so much'".  

The article finished after the above with "That's the SCCA at its best, and
it was pretty darn good for the Runoffs".
