I've never lived in Wisconsin, but I had a girlfriend from Madison back in the 1970s...there were quite a few Wisconsin transplants in the San Francisco bay area, so I was fortunate to meet lots of Wisconsinites at parties, and in the ski club that i belonged to...Beer and Brauts!....
My youngest daughter is married to a young man from a Wisconsin family..(they met at the Air Force Academy)...At their wedding...it was made very clear to me that i was automatically 'part of the family'...and it's stayed that way...
If i would have to give a stereotype about Wisconsin..i would say...'Friendly, down to Earth, Warm'..
