[Fot] NASCAR windshield material

AMICI - does anyone know what the NASCAR builders use for windshield, side, and rear glass material.  I was standing next to one of their cars at the Chicago auto show last week - amazed at what seemed to be a very light gauged material.  
Also. The support structure for this thin plastic is what looked like black anodized aluminum angle stock - very nicely crafted, drilled full of many large holes for see through.
Anyone know where to get black covered aluminum stock?  Maybe it's just painted.
