One more on Ed. Last year Evelyn and I were at the Jekyll Island SEVTR event and we met Ed. Spent plenty of time socializing with him and both thought he was just one of the nicest Triumph folks around. In conversation he had just casually mentioned that he had raced a Spitfire in the past, nothing more. We were at the Legends portion at the Glen and they introduced Ed Diehl. I looked at Evelyn, holy crap.... had no idea we were hanging out with somebody famous last year. Hope to rub elbows again some time.

Marty

I had a few opportunities to talk with
Hardy and I was quite impressed with the man. Hardy had a great smile on his
face that I describe as the one he must have earned with that SCCA
Championship. I’m sure some of the other “legends” whether
young or older spent time in other areas of the paddock but Ed Diehl should get
some kind of award. He jumped in and helped a couple of us with our “issues”.
It just proves that Triumph guys, Then, now and probably forever have a special
bond. Only we know how much we need and appreciate each other.
