Also Ed's wife Linda, "The Better Diehl!"
She was very friendly, encouraging, and helped me get belted in a couple times. As did their friend Tony A to Z,
Funny, in 1971 I used to help him (Tony) get belted into Oscar's McLaren! Funny how things are.
Anyone going to the VRG race at the Glen in Oct?
Take care all, Bill----- Original Message -----

I had a few opportunities to talk with Hardy and I was quite impressed with the man. Hardy had a great smile on his face that I describe as the one he must have earned with that SCCA Championship. I'm sure some of the other "legends" whether young or older spent time in other areas of the paddock but Ed Diehl should get some kind of award. He jumped in and helped a couple of us with our "issues". It just proves that Triumph guys, Then, now and probably forever have a special bond. Only we know how much we need and appreciate each other.

    FOT List,

    Perhaps you noticed.............................................................................

Two of our favorite Triumph folks graced us with their presence at the Glen.

    Hardy Prentice and Jack Wheeler.

Both SCCA Champions in Triumphs, TR3 and TR4A, respectively.

No formal introductions were arranged and I didnt get out Name Tags as I planned, but I think they managed to get out and about on their own pretty well.

They came on their own dime and were there because they truly wanted to be. It's part of the magic of The Glen, but I am sure they wanted to be with us, too.

They might have been part of The Legends Speak, but were perhaps too young to be Legends yet.

    Joe A
