[Fot] Watkins Glen Poster VTR & FoT

Andy,

To what point?

When I purchased my first Spitfire ('73 1500) in 1989 I'd asked a friend
familiar with the scene if there were any clubs to look at. I was told of
one national club ( VTR) but told they were only focused on the side curtain
TRs.

My first call to a VTR officer in central NJ kinda confirmed that idea.

To my knowledge most of the factory efforts post sidecurtain cars went into
the Spitfires.. not forgetting the Group 44 TR6s and the TR7/TR8s.

There are members on this list who are die hard VTR members. There are
folks on this list who maybe are a bit... ambivalent about the VTR. At
best.

So... as a former VTR president.. what are you proposing? And what are the
requirements, and dues?

I rule nothing out before looking at it.. Maybe I won't like what I see
though.

Cheers,

Jim

Joe;
You might be surprized as to how many FOT members are also members of
the VTR. I for one am VTR member #599. Joined way back in the beginning.
Also a member of TRA, TR Register/UK, SVRA, VDCA, SCCA, and yes, National
Street Rod Association. A tried and true "Car Nut".

Gee, Dean, you're just a kid. My VTR member number is 113. ;-)

This does raise an interesting possibility, were FoT members so inclined:
perhaps we could become some sort of "Special Chapter" or "Affiliate" of
VTR?

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er, Triumph
Herald engine with wings.
